Progression in Cruise Line Tycoon is the repeatable cycle of build, stock, sail, settle, improve, and expand. Quality-Studios officially names rooms, amenities, guest satisfaction, fuel, supplies, crew, and fleet growth. A strong account connects those systems without spending the reserve needed for the next complete voyage.

The free Beta V2.0.0 followed V1-era progression changes, so old starting cash, prices, earnings, unlocks, fleet caps, class order, and “best route” claims are not frozen here. Use the live account and menu for every number. The stable strategy is to improve measured reliability before scale.

Progress rule: One functional ship and one repeatable voyage are the baseline. Expand only when the new project can be completed without breaking that baseline.

Phase 1: establish a working ship

Use the current starter or first available class. Build compact operational and guest zones, preserve circulation, stock fuel and supplies, resolve current crew or control warnings, and complete a short voyage through settlement.

Do not optimize income before the loop works. Record the first failure and fix operation, access, resources, route, or service. A successful small ship creates better progression evidence than an unfinished large hull.

See Beginner Guide and Functional Ship for the first baseline.

Phase 2: measure voyage money

Use the Money Guide to record preparation cost, route, total time, result, and interruptions. Repeat the same setup before making a comparison. Headline earnings without cost and failure are not useful.

Fix the largest repeated loss. If fuel or supplies cause interruption, improve preparation. If guests cannot reach services, fix layout. If a route is unreliable, simplify it. If the ship completes consistently, test one capacity or service improvement.

Reserve enough for another full cycle before spending the remainder.

Phase 3: verify unlocks in the current menu

An unlock can depend on money, progression, ownership, a product, a prior purchase, or another condition. Record the exact V2 lock message, target, cost or requirement, and date. Do not copy a V1 class order or threshold.

Choose unlocks that remove a measured limit. More build space helps only when the account can outfit it. A new amenity helps only when it is reachable and supportable. Automation helps only when the current crew and operating requirements work reliably.

Unknown conditions should remain unknown until the game or Quality-Studios confirms them.

Phase 4: expand the fleet safely

Give the next ship a role: reliable voyage, guest-experience test, larger build, creative showcase, or feature experiment. Budget the hull, operation, rooms, amenities, fuel, supplies, crew, and correction reserve together.

Keep the working ship intact until the new one completes the same test route. If V2 permits concurrent or automated voyages, verify the current ship limit, crew requirement, and unattended behavior before building a passive-income plan.

Compare fleet results by net outcome and reliability, not exterior size.

Free-player strategy

The official API says entry is completely free. That supports a normal-play progression route, not a claim that every class or customization product has no Robux option. Separate the core loop from optional purchases.

Use current gameplay earnings to fund function first, then service and scale. Do not buy a product to solve a layout or preparation problem it does not address. Verify every product in the official Roblox Store.

Returning Alpha players should record existing ships, badges, products, and balances before editing. No compensation or migration package is assumed from the presence of Alpha and Beta badges.

Protect progress during Beta

Keep dated notes for major costs and route results. Save or checkpoint through current supported controls before a large rebuild. Test updates on a small or secondary area when possible.

When V2 changes a price or balance, update the decision rather than hiding the old observation. Do not spend an entire reserve immediately after a patch based on a creator’s old yield.

Use the Updates hub to identify which building, voyage, ship, or management assumptions need retesting.

A practical session plan

  1. Check current game title and update notice.
  2. Confirm the main ship’s status and resources.
  3. Complete one reliable voyage.
  4. Record result, cost, time, and feedback.
  5. Fix one measured bottleneck.
  6. Repeat the same route.
  7. Bank the next-voyage reserve.
  8. Spend only the remaining amount on an unlock or fleet goal.

Progression mistakes

  • Buying a larger hull without full launch cost.
  • Copying a guaranteed hourly income from a pre-V2 video.
  • Expanding capacity without guest service and supplies.
  • Treating a locked menu item as a known level or price.
  • Buying optional access before understanding normal operation.
  • Removing the working ship before a replacement settles a voyage.
  • Comparing routes and ships under different conditions.

Progression FAQ

How do I make money?

Complete voyages and compare current net results under controlled conditions. Officially, voyages connect the operating loop; exact rewards need V2 observation.

What should I unlock first?

Choose the current unlock that removes a measured limit and can be fully supported by your reserve. No universal order is verified.

When should I buy a new ship?

When the main ship is reliable and the account can fund the new hull, operation, guest layout, resources, and correction without disabling it.

Can I progress for free?

The current game is free to enter and the official core loop does not state that a gamepass is required. Optional products may still exist.

What needs in-game testing?

Starting resources, all prices and earnings, class order, unlock conditions, fleet limit, automation, gamepass benefits, rating formulas, and migration effects.
